EAG CrossFit

Anyone can try their first CrossFit Class for free. Just reach out by phone or email and give us a heads up that you are coming. We will make sure the workout is appropriate for your skill and fitness level and help you see if CrossFit might be a good fit for you!

If you decide you want to join the CrossFit  program, we will have you complete an “On Ramp”. This gives us a chance to teach you the foundational movements of CrossFit, begin to improve your movement mechanics, and prepare you for group classes.  On Ramp needs to be completed before adding the CrossFit component to your membership.

We have two options for “On Ramp”, a group and an individual option. The first week of every month, we offer a 2 session Group On Ramp Class on Monday and Wednsday at 6:30pm.  We recommend this option for anyone who hasn’t been active recently, or who has no experience in strength training. We have limited spaces in the Group On Ramp and recommend signing up early!

The second option is a one hour 1:1 On Ramp session. This option is best for people who have been actively working out and have strength training experience.

After you have completed the On Ramp, your membership can be adjusted to include access to CrossFit classes.

Not sure what option is best for you? When you try your first class, the Coach on duty can give you some direction on what would be the best fit after you take the class or you can reach out to us by phone or email and we can make a recommendation!

What is CrossFit?
CrossFit is constantly varied, functional movement, done at relatively high intensity. What that means is that we do a bunch of different workouts, comprised of simple body-weight and free-weight movements, and we are pushing ourselves as hard as we want to or can on that day. No two days are the same, and it never gets boring!
What happens in the CrossFit Beginner’s class?
Each session of our CrossFit Beginner’s Course is set up to flow just like our classes do. Each day starts off with a general warm up, like 2 minutes on a bike or a short run to get the heart pumping. Then there is a specific warm up that involves more moving and stretching. Next, you will learn the skills for the day. This portion makes up a bulk of the hour. After you feel confident in the new movements we cap the day off with a little workout.
What if I have done CrossFit before?
That’s awesome! Welcome to your new home. “Doing CrossFit before” means you’ve done the introductory course at another CrossFit Gym and then you were an active member there for at least 3 months. If that’s the case, you can do a Test-out. All that is is a formal way to start at our gym. It’s an hour-long session where you will review movements essential to CrossFit and complete a benchmark workout to officially be welcomed into our community. “My buddy showed me some moves in his garage,” or “I’ve watched all the videos online” are great but we still suggest you go through the Beginner’s Class, if that’s the extent of your experience.
What if I have an injury or limitation?
CrossFit can be adjusted, scaled, or modified to fit anyone’s needs. In your Beginner’s Class we can come up with a plan on how to accommodate any injuries.
What is the 1 on 1 Beginners program?

Learning the basics in a group environment can be intimidating. If you have a tight schedule it may also be tough to get the Beginners classes when they are scheduled! Our 1 on 1 program will allow you to schedule training when it works for you and allow for 1 on 1 attention. After 2 sessions you will have the basics down and be ready to jump into the full program! Reach out for more info on cost and scheduling.

Is CrossFit Safe?
Anything done incorrectly can be dangerous. By completing the Beginner’s Classes you are learning the correct way to move and approach workouts. Once in classes you are under the watchful eye of a coach whose sole purpose is to push you outside your comfort zone while maintaining a safe environment. CrossFit done correctly is not dangerous.
