EAG CrossFit

We welcome and encourage anyone who is interested in trying CrossFit to drop in for a free class! Dropping in to try a class will give you the opportunity to meet our amazing community, coaches and see what the entire Evolution Athletix facility has to offer. No matter your fitness level, we will scale the workout appropriately for you, so if you’re unsure of what you’re walking into, our experienced coaches are there to help you.

Enjoy varied and challenging workouts, programmed to help you reach your fitness goals. Our classes include scaling options and substitutions that allow members of all fitness levels to enjoy their workout.

If you decide you want to join our CrossFit program, we will have you complete an “On Ramp”. This gives us a chance to teach you the foundational movements of CrossFit, begin to improve your movement mechanics, and prepare you for group classes.  On Ramp needs to be completed before adding the CrossFit component to your membership.

Our on ramp is a one hour 1:1 session. The on ramp will be catered to your fitness and experience level and will quickly get you ready for the full CrossFit program!

After you have completed the On Ramp, your membership can be adjusted to include access to CrossFit classes.

What is CrossFit?
CrossFit is constantly varied, functional movement, done at relatively high intensity. What that means is that we do a bunch of different workouts, comprised of simple body-weight and free-weight movements, and we are pushing ourselves as hard as we want to or can on that day. No two days are the same, and it never gets boring!
What happens in the CrossFit On Ramp?

Each session of our CrossFit Beginner’s Course is set up to flow just like our classes do. It starts with a general warm up, like 2 minutes on a bike or a short run to get the heart pumping. Then there is a specific warm up that involves more moving and stretching. Next, you will learn the skills for the day. This portion makes up a bulk of the hour. After you feel confident in the new movements we cap the day off with a little workout.

What if I have done CrossFit before?
That’s awesome! Welcome to your new home. “Doing CrossFit before” means you’ve done the introductory course at another CrossFit Gym and then you were an active member there for at least 3 months. If that’s the case, you can do a Test-out. All that is is a formal way to start at our gym. It’s an hour-long session where you will review movements essential to CrossFit and complete a benchmark workout to officially be welcomed into our community. “My buddy showed me some moves in his garage,” or “I’ve watched all the videos online” are great but we still suggest you go through the Beginner’s Class, if that’s the extent of your experience.
What if I have an injury or limitation?
CrossFit can be adjusted, scaled, or modified to fit anyone’s needs. In your Beginner’s Class we can come up with a plan on how to accommodate any injuries.
Can I drop in for a class?
Southern Maine is one of the most popular places to visit in New England! While you’re here, we welcome you to drop-in to any of our classes. Our experienced coaches and supportive community is happy to be your CrossFit home away from home.
Please arrive 15 minutes prior to class to sign a waiver and meet the Coach. You are welcome to stay after the class and use the rest of the Evolution Athletix facility, including showers and sauna.
Day passes are $15 a day, $60 for the week. This allows you access to any of our classes including CrossFit, Yoga, Kickboxing and more. Preregistration for class is not required, but please call or email with any questions.
Is CrossFit Safe?
Anything done incorrectly can be dangerous. By completing the Beginner’s Classes you are learning the correct way to move and approach workouts. Once in classes you are under the watchful eye of a coach whose sole purpose is to push you outside your comfort zone while maintaining a safe environment. CrossFit done correctly is not dangerous.
